    Crying over spilt milk!!!!!!!

    Hi,

I have been a bit of a tool.

last week my mother asked me to go and get some milk from the shop, i went, put it in the boot and set off home. on the way i got passed by a nova with a spoiler big enough to sleep on. i couldnt help myself but to have a bit of a play with it......

    (completely forgetting about the milk)

the milk slid around in the boot for a bit before the bottle burst and now my car STINKS... Really bad.

ive tried stain removers, 3 tins of febreeze, pet de-odorizer, jet wash, the lot and it still will not go.

does anyone have any kim & aggie (how clean is your house) tips on how to get rid of the smell or what to use.

any help or anything will be apprieciated

    thanks
    If in doubt....... FLAT OUT!!!

Take the boot matt out, jetwash it with as much washing powder as you can throw at it lol and let it dry for 2 years

Put white wine vinegar in a spray bottle and give it a heavy soaking, the vinegar neutralises the milk (aparrently) leave for 1/2 hour then jetwash the boot carpet off (out of the car)

yes, your car may smell like a chippy for a bit but its better than off milk.

By the time you buy something for cleaning it then spend time doing it, drying it etc it may be easier launching it all in the bin then going to a scrappy for a new boot carpet.

This was my intitial thought. For the sake of £5 - £10 i would be throwing it away and re-fitting a clean one.

The carpet on the back of the seats will come off too, so you could replace that also. (if my mental image is correct)

    Milk - nightmare!

Ok best way is to try to take the carpet out mate and soak in some fabric cleaner. While thats drying get in the boot and suck up with hoover all the milk you can see, especially pay attention to any milk that has got behind and spare wheels, back of trims etc. Give everything a damn good clean and you should be ok but you must get all the milk out.

    gallon of petrol/match
    only joking lol

my tips would be baking soda to soak up any residue of milk then white vinegar to neutralise the odour ......worked a couple of times in the work van lol

or as said if you can get hold of secondhand one then ..................
