Cleaning mould out of black leather interior?

Googled it a little but nothing really helped so il try here.

Basically i have a nice leather interior which came out of a car which had a dash fire. A bucket of water was thrown over the dash which got the passenger seat wet.

The foam was saturated and the car never moved again. I have taken the leather out and dried it out thoroughly but mould patches keep coming through the leather. I wipe them off in the evening and they start coming back through by the morning.

What can i do? The leather needs to go up for sale but cant sell it as it is, as its a little dishonest.

I used half a jumbo pack of baby wipes the other day, The mould went away and they looked amazing, But by the morning white spots started re-appearing.

Someone today recommended a citrus or vinager solution. Think il try the citrus this week and if it doesnt work will strip them down.

Not looking forward to it though as they are fully electric and potentially worth a lot of money.

Would that get to the root of the problem which is the foam? or just block up the pores to stop it coming through?

    Well yeah, but goes away.
People use it as conditioner when washing clothes.
    Can use it for everything.
Is best stuff for cleaning moss and mildew off tarmac, similar stuff to that on your seats.

Strip them down, the foam will be covered, you can steam/jetwash them.

I've heard vinegar works very well. I'd leather condition over the top a few times. Gliptone is very good.

Thanks. Looks like they'l be sticking around for a while yet then.... Really wanted them up for sale this week, but dont just want to wipe them and have mould come back for the buyer as I know id be pissed off if it happened to me.

Il post up progress this week as it may help others in the future.

Soaking the foam, then drying them quick helps iirc. I had to years back and the drying out seemed to kill it off too.

Re: Cleaning mould out of black leather interior?

Yes actually. I have the worst one at home. I put chip shop vinager in a spray bottle, sprayed the mould and let it sit for 10mins. Wiped it off and touch wood no mould has re-appeared. I gave it a treatment of the auto glym cleaner too.

Seems like it was just surface mould and not in the foam. Thanks for all the replys...

Anyone want to buy a fully electric, e46 M-sport, black leather interior?
