Any recommendation for windscreen water-beading? Rain-x?

As title really, sick of streaks of water in the rain. I'd rather have it bead off nicely.

Any suggestions?

Better still any household products that do it? Don't really want to pay £19.99 for a 5ml bottle of Meguiars 3-stage window kwik detail dressing bar wax

I use wax it wet on my cars, when im done i go over the windows, if it rains you can litteraly drive down the road and the water blows off!

Wax it wet? Is that from Halfords?

yep its great stuff and they normally have it on bogof aswell, stops you getting watermarks when you wash in warm weather. you just spray it on a wet car and the water just runs off give it a wipe with the chamois and its smear free.

Rain repellent is ****ing gash, it looks nice in light rain as it all beads neatly off, but as soon as it rains properly and you try and use the wipers you're just gonna crash into a wall.

not really if you apply it correctly the more rain there is the faster it clears tbh

I just have a horrible memory of trying to get it off a windscreen in service between stages because the windscreen was opaque at speed and since then have been too scared to put any on lol

i used halfords rain rain repellent comes in a pack with a special applicator cloth too and iv never had any complaints about it to be honest and its only about 7euro so guessing about 5pounds and does lots of applications to the one bottle

i use turtle wax clay and lube works wonders on my vxr windows beads nice and blows of window regardles of heavyness of rain

Really? Never even thought about it TBH, I use my window wipers

After further thought, I think it was dirty water/mud that was the problem, normal rain beaded off as advertised.

i once used stuff for aircraft front windows when i worked in a hanger later found out it was 600 quid a bottle ooops worked for months mind you

I still use Rain-X, it's £1.99 from Tesco, its stronger and lasts longer and doesn't give any probs with the wipers.

I just wax the ****ers with Maguirs Tek Spray wax and i've never had any problems. I drove the work this morning on the motorway and it was raining, only needed the wipers on setting 1, it just beaded off.

A potato.....use that....cut it in half and rub it on ur window then clean the window as normal...then use ur microfibre cloth that u take ur wax off with to buff the window to a shine. Works for me...even if I do look like a nutter rubbing food on my ride.
