rust spots on chrome deep dish alloys

hi whats the best way to get the rust off my deep dish alloys its around the lip tried power hose and normal elbo grees with cloth just wont come off its not bad rust just tiny little spots like brake dust also whats the best stuff to protect them cheers

any pictures of the wheels? autosol should take it off if its only on the surface

here ya go feel bad iv let it get this bad but been working and its been out of use carnt get the wheels of niether as car didn't come with the locking wheel nut

Sorry to bump an old thread

Once you have cleaned them up nice, you should try covering them with ACF-50. This will protect the chrome finish and it doesn't wash off so will give you a decent level of protection

And if the rust is too much for autosol alone, use some high grade wet and dry, going up through grades and then finish off with autosol. I polished the lip on my old motor bike wheel (took ages) but I used a foam pad on a palm sander with autosol. Works nice and you can get into small areas.

Not a problem. My mate swears by that stuff on his Harley. He uses it on his billet wheels and exhaust and other brightwork, as the weather at this time of years just kills it.

It doesn't wash off, and when you have wshed the wheels, just give them a wipe over and it heals up
