    Re: paint burn help

I think that is most defiantly were some has tried to
Polish the car after painting and has been to aggressive with the polisher, therefore
Causing it to burn through the paint.you could try and flatten it back with 2000 wet and dry paper
    But be careful.
Captain we just can,t do it....just don,t have the powerrrrrr!:)

try scratch a bit off with your finger nail. wouldn't be the first time iv seen a dirty mop head used and left a stubbern compound mark that tends to be noticed after its been washed. if the finger nail dont touch it take it back pal as its there deposit! could be burnt through its hard to tell by picture.
if it stands proud of the paintwork theres a good chance you'l take it off without the "feeling silly" situation when they rub it off in front off you.

cheers guys yeah the full car got a respray and no you can feel the indent with your finger i also tried to polish it and it makes the marks worse

he said to take it back up but im a little weary if its worth leaving it up with him to come back and hes pached it up

can you rub down the laqure and laqure it again ??

the paint is diamond black so not sure

if worst come to the worst ill need to get it redone by someone els

my girl doesnt want it to go back up but the thought of loosing 600 is really annoying me

As its been burnt thru it will need base/colour over the burn. The lacquering the whole panel or to a swadge line.

600 is very cheap for an all over paint job, would make me think what else hasn't been done right...

well thats my thoughts he done a set of alloys for me i gave him at the same time but got them back yesterday

really decent finish ill admit but i know a little about paint and stuff (novice type)

hes not used that much hardener as if you push your finger nail into the paint its still soft handle dry but not fully had them beside the rad for a few hours but still the same

    heres the alloys

yeah there was a few bits when putting back together they missed a few bolts n stuff as well as the rear window getting tanned

ill be the first to admit £600 quid for a respray aint much and some folk might say what do you expect for that money

but id expect to get the car with a fresh paint job mabe able to see a few dents not filled correctly but not paint burns all over it

i've started sanding down the rear end with the worsed burns taking my time with some 2000 using soapy water to help

whats the best polish to buff it back up ???

again thanks for the replay guys much appreciated

G6 to polish it back up, but i dont think you'll get the burns out.

And the paints still wet after all this time? That isn't right of good. Even slow thinners will hardened by now. Think you'll be taking them back too.

This is where the, "you pay for what you get " saying comes from.
