Been thinking for ages now that a steam cleaner would be dead handy up the unit, what with having that many old parts coming off and being put back on and engines being freshened up.
Anyone used one in the past?

LOL at that thing, sorry you are going to have to spend an order of magnitude more than that. If you don't want to spend that much your best best is getting a budget power washer with metal internals that you can connect to a hot water tap, such as a Nilfisk. And plenty of Gunk or similar cleaning solution.
