Engine in the bay etc or just an empty bay. I have always used de-greaser to get most of the crap off and jet wash it down
Get a Good degreaser, paint brush it on neat, rinse off with a hose. Dont go near anything elec.
They're there, in their room.

watering can then lol
Ive used several degreasers and nothing is strong enough to really get the crap off, best thing that worked for me was a power washer and a scrubbing brush all by hand.
Gunk foam degreasant is a good help though.
With plastic and rubber cleaning under bonnet found autoglym rubber viynl cleaner makes the airbox and other rubber hoses shine well.
What about these people that hot wash or steam clean your bay???
I mean like these guys who wash cars for like 5 quid etc
Signature not as cool as Paul's
Tbh i used wheel acid and an old tooth brush and the bay and under the engine, transfer box looks spot on and well worth doin that way, i got loads of enjoyment out of it and wen the bonnet is up and ya get alot of good comments makes it all worth it.
Vauxhall is the only way for me.

I use this Auto Glym and my pressure washer over everything. Never had any problems with electrics but I never consentrate over them.
When I bought my Vectra I thought the sump gasket needed doing. A good spray of this everywhere... turned out to be the breather on the front. £1.20 Gasket
