    removing silicone and expanding foam

    bought a chaved up corsa with a huge bodykit. the sideskirts were held on with silicone and expanding foam, what can i use to remove the above? thanks

    You'll never get expanding foam off, it's nasty stuff.

    heat gun and plastic scraper (not at the same time) heat it up and then move the gun away, slide scraper over the top, keep doing till happy, mind the paint behind.

    Try thinners on the foam. I know body filler melts it.
    Or resort to scraping it all off & wet flatting it away. Time consuming.

    Could try a 'fudge' wheel....its what bodyshops use to get sticky adhesive foam, from badges and trim etc, off bodywork when prepping....takes the stuff off but doesnt damage the paint....although i presume that expanding foam may be rock solid?
