    vagisil..you serious? lol

perhaps it me, but when i wash the windscreen with normal car shampoo, after when using the window wipers, they dont glide smooth at all.
just that i went to one of those hand car washes the other day, coz i was abit to busy to do it myself, and the stuff they used was fine, and the wipers glided smoothly, so im guesing its down to the shampoo i use.

Any glass clearer. Soak it then buff of so you get no marks, then Rain-x it up.

I use just plain water and wipers.

because cleaning it thoroughly outside makes no diference as the inside is coated with a layer of nicotene.

    Re: washing your windscreens

I remember once something crazy happened to my windscreen from inside, it could not be cleaned with almost every screen cleaner I tried, I really don't know what caused the screen acquire a layer of greasy smear, which during the day time was no problem but at night the driving became immensely difficult as shining headlights from on coming traffic made it very difficult to see as the light scattered badly, I tried windolene, proper screen cleaners, even popped into a garage to buy something in despair, but none of these worked, then looked in my glove box I had some KFC wipes left over from times I used to have KFC, these little things (lemon scented wipes) really removed whatever the culprit was,
the only thing I can think of contaminating my screen was probably some air freshner spray or often I use Pledge to polish my dashboard, so may be some spray may have landed on the screen.

though it was mor like some sort of silicone smear, I really don't know where it came from, may be I used a rag that was contamibated with silicone.
