    washing,polishing and waxing freshly resprayed paint

    hi i have recently had my cav re-painted and am not sure how to go about polishing and protecting the new paint. what products are best to use??

    from memory you shouldnt really be polishing it for a few months to allow the laquer to fully harden.

    but after that if your not insane on your cleaning, a couple of coats of SRP then perhaps a megs wax will be fine.

    New paint wont really need polishing, so a good coat of wax should be fine.
    There are lots on the market tho, depending on what you want to spend.

    Megiuar's, dodo juice are both very good.
    I'm louder than gods own revolver and twice as shiney.

    so just a good quality wax is the way forward then, also do i need to wash it eny differntly from normal the first time ??

    you should have been using the two bucket method in the first place!

    with a good quality lambs wool or microfibre mit.

    lol the paint was shot when i got it i havent had it on the road since looked like it had been washed with a wire brush just dont want to make an expensive mistake on the new paint

    why dont you just ask the sprayers for advice?

    They should tell you what or not to do etc etc

    Good one! Have you witnessed the state some cars come back from bodyshops? The usual for them is scud it with some Truck & Pavement Wash, work it in with the brush the boy was just sweeping the yard with before burning it back off with a shonky old diesel power washer running somewhere near 700deg, then roughly dry it down with a couple of old overalls.

    Detailing World if you want to go really anal!

    lol sounds like a rough body shop, tbh they dident wash it at all and it has like a fine dust all over it from bieing stood in my garage going to get a lamb's wool mit wash it, dry it and give it some good quality wax will get some pics up
