try a bit of thinners on a rag but make sure you polish it off as you dont want to leave marks on the paint where the thinners has eaten in to the paintwork

try Auto glym tar and adhesive remover, about 3-4 quid in halfrauds, took the sticky felt and glue off mine after i removed a badge no problems and gets rid of the diesel sticker marks from ex hire cars well.
Then wash with soapy water as normal and it comes off perfect.

hairdryer might be useful in softening the adhesive so that you can wipe it off
