C20let and F28 cleaning

Im taking out the engine from my car soon to do some work and im wanting to clean the engine and gearbox and then paint them.Does anyone have any tips when it comes to cleaning the both of them,Shall i keep them bolted together then jet wash them and gunk them?Is there anything especially on the gearbox that i need to be careful of that i dont get no dirt or anything in it?
Any comments would be great.

what degree in cleaning are you doing eg stripping the engine down or pulling the engine out and giving it a wash?

Re: C20let and F28 cleaning

just a de-greaser its actualy jizer. The best one to get for gearboxes is a tin of gunk, Much better at getting grease off.

Re: C20let and F28 cleaning

agreed, i used gunk and paintbrushes, and a hose, but warm water would be better. most of all time is what you need, a thorough job needs a fair amount of time but the end result is worth it
