3 or 4 cans per panel should get you 2 coats of silver, same again for the clear. If you're doing the inside of the door aswell you may need an extra can or two of each.

I did rear panel, both rear arches, both sills, one door and a pair of front wings with rattle cans a few years ago on my old SR and got through at least 30 cans, and that was without any lacquer! Emptied the 3 local hally's (2 in hull and 1 in beverley) and ended up traveling to scunny, goole and brid to deplete their stocks!

Well i havnt sprayed my bumpers as of yet, so this is coming as an estimate, but i would say 5 - 6 cans ... depending on a number of factors, one factor is how good you want it to be... in other words if you want it to be real colourful and shiny ... you will need a number of coats.... meaning more cans of spray.

rent a cheep compressor and get cellulose, sur halfords do it in litre tins for 15 quid,

that should be more than enough basecoat as you thin it down.

    hope this helps

to be precise, youll get maybe 2 500ml (like **** is there that much inside) cans for under £15 when you can get a litre of 2k for around a tenner, which is in fact ONE litre that thins down to about 2 litres and you get about 5 times more coverage than with a rattle can.

i use rattle cans to do spot repairs where a small section needs blowing in then laquering over, id never recomend its use for anything other than that and small bolt on parts i.e. grills etc

realistically, your as cheap spraying it using a proper spray gun. metalics from spray cans arent easy, as the metal flakes buld up in the nozzle and come out uneven, making the paint look cloudy.

rattle cans are fine for small things like door handles etc, Soild colours arent bad if you really put the effort in and flat the primer, flat the paint using 2kgrit wet paper, then polish it

What Ive done is spray the panels with primer (cheap enough £6.99 a litre from halfords) flatted it down and then got my brother in law to spray the colour the proper way.
