    Meguiars - hard to remove

Waxed the car today after getting it back from bodyshop, proper one this time, not OOOPS in Poole near Makro who are absolute sh!t.
Waxed it 3 times Twice with that next generation blue bottle stuff. Comes off alright, except the bonnet, right b*stard to get it a uniform look, some seems to stay?
    Any ideas?

i've got and use all the stuff, and havent found any of it hard to get off,
you could try a micofiber cloth,as they help remove the excess wax,

I've never had any problems with their Gold Class wax. Did you polish first?

Mmm some good thinking there, only explanation really, as it's had the 3 stages same as rest of car.

Ben, I've used one of those cloths when I did some valeting. Where's best to get one?
It would have come off with normal polishing cloth if I'd concentrated on one square inch at a time and rubbed like buggery, but b*llocks to that.

right i have this problem aswell my friend.it basically comes down 2 useing 2 much polish and 2 being 2 heavy handed.on the sides its not so bad because u dont really apply any effort.i have found that putting the bonnet and bootlid up helps a lot and as u r applying polish on the car do the circular motions bit with straight lines 2 finish.this giving more even coverage.and use proper clean polishing rag aswell.hope this helps.

    Yeah can see that.
Sides get a lot of circling motion, but not the pressure, bonnet gets your weight behind it.
So, straight lines once it's covered then?

You shouldn't be applying any pressure for a wax.

and i get my clothes from a paint and stuff shop, there made by ferics,
best one are the clothes that when u run you hand over them they kinda grab the dry skin,if you get what i mean?

also i've recently had the same problem with meguiars, it goes sticky and won't come off, so i've gone back to autoglym, couldn't praise meguiars enough, but this problem has been too much.

Yep, doesn't seem to 'set'. Stays kind of soft.

Ben, the cloth I'm thinking of was quite heavy and tough, and had ridges all the way down it.

My car is metallic black too. If the car has been polished any time recently the wax should just be wiped on using the applicator they provide (with no pressure necessary - I don't see why that is so difficult on a bonnet) and then once you have wiped it over the whole car wipe it off with a micro-fibre cloth (they really are the best).

Mike, I tend to wax like I'm T-Cutting I think. Only recently started using wax, thought polish was an alternative

Anyone reccommend a microfibre cloth, or just a decent brand from Halford's etc?

Lots of people seem to. Wax is just a protective layer. You are not trying to remove anything with it so it literally just needs to be wiped over the paint. And it should mean that you can keep polishing down to once every few months.

The microfibre cloths can be washed as well, so they basically last forever.
