Old black car / new fresh paint.

Has anyone with an older black car ever had bits sprayed and it makes the rest of the car look kindo dull/grey/brow? Got bonnet and 2 bumpers sprayed and it make the rest look bad.
If anyone has had this, is there a way of getting the old black paint to look darker again?

It should polish up - get a good polisher (not a £19.99 Halfords special!) and some good paint cleaner from someone like meguires, and a good glaze, and a good wax.

Not cheap, but cheaper than a respray, and you'll be able to go over it again at no extra cost.

Go to http://www.autopia.org/ and have a good read.

It is possible that the new paint is just a bad match. Not all blacks are created equal, and if it looks brown it sounds like it has used a different pigment. But try giving it a polish as that might sort it out.
