    Paint Sealant

Can someone explain to me the advanatages of paint sealant, and is it a liquid that you wipe on like polish or is it a spray? Ive heard that it replaces polish- I have already polished my car though after a recent full respray so can I not 'seal it' now?

Thanks guys, oh and Ive also heard you shouldnt use this stuff til 60-90days after the respray??

    Cheers,

    Chris

IIRC you should wait a certai amount of time for the paint to full harden

If you mean diamondbrite type stuff (there's other varieties too), I wouldn't bother.
You'll still end up polishing it every now and then anyway.
Used to apply it at work. It'd cost the customer £300 and you can get the same stuff on ebay for £25 (tops) and apply it yourself if you really want to.

IMHO dont waste your time and money, a regular wax every month will do a better job than the paint sealers ever will. the interior kit doesnt work, and the exterior kit is just a wax with a strong bond on it. audi charge their customers £300ish for a kit that costs them £15 and even the salesmen admit its crap. oh and if you ever need paintwork doing on your car the bodyshop will hate you as it makes paint react.

    Re: Paint Sealant

Don't use anything which will prevent the paint "breathing" for 30-90 days after spraying to avoid risks of trapped solvent blistering. There are special car finishes for this, 3M Imperial Hand Glaze is a good one. Its applied just like a wax, but allows the paint to "breath". Once you're happy the paint is Ok to take a wax just use your favourite one nice and regular.
Its better to burn out than to fade away. So long as theres not a police car behind you at the time...
