    Cool Polishing

Just bought a Astra SRi 2.2 in Black Sapphire - needed a bit of a poslish so went and bought some black T-Cut colour restorer polish.

Spent ages putting it on and made it look mint in the garage. Took it out into the sunlight and there are polish marks all over. Does anyone how to get ring of them and stop this from happening?

rather than circle motion for polishing use straight lines.

    Re: Polishing

Bin that sissy black T-cut crap and get yourself some Meguiars Cleaner Paste Wax in a tub with the foam applicator. You'll not touch anything else (perhaps except other Meguiars stuff) after using that. No I don't work for Meguiars, it's just that their stuff is the dogs bollox and nothing else touches it. Period.

    EDIT:

...and that includes the legendary (very good but overrated) Mer.

    Re: Polishing

You need to go back over the car with a finishing polish (T-Cut is a cutting polish). Mer, Autoglym Super Resin Polish or as already mentioned, Meguiars, etc.

    Re: Polishing

Mer is pants. I bought some because they were out of Autoglym and I was fed up of the dust it makes anyway. So got the Mer and I polished one half the bonnet with it and one half not touched and you can't tell the difference. Also water does not bead up nicely like it does on the Autoglym. Halfords budget own brand gives the same/better results as Mer.

Not used Meguirs or Mothers yet but will def. give them a try. I want as good a finish as Autoglym but without the frickin' dust.

Just got one of those huge electrical buffers. FANTASTIC. My blue astra really needed to be polished (roof had started to fade). Used dome t-cut on a special cloth with the buffer, and it's come up brilliant! Then used Autoglym super resin polished and sealed it all with loads of carnuba wax (watch out for wasps though, they fookin love it!)

I thought I was probably one of the only people on here that uses the 3M hand glaze wax. This stuff is really the excellent.

I paid £7.99 from my local stockists. Go to www.meguiars.co.uk, press "stockists", type in the first half of your postcode and see what comes up. Your nearest stockist is Evo Performance & Styling, Tones Garage, on Shotton Rd

Come on lads, give the guy a break. If he'd wanted your opinion on his wheels he'd have asked for it. As it stands, he asked for help with car-polish.
