Has anyone used G3 Advanced cutting compound.

If so, did you find it work well on your paint. Did you do it by hand or by a mop. If you did it by hand, what was the best cloths to use, i really have to hack away at my flame link paint.

Whats the best polish and wax to use afterwards.

    Any input is much appreciated.

do it in straight lines and put your back into it. use a proper wax afterwards, as it will remove any trace of polish

G3 is very good. You can finish with G10, or any other polish of your choice and top off with any wax of your choice.

you have to let new paint harden, generally 3 weeks.
i sprayed my car in two pack, and that took about 3 weeks to fully harden (it dries in an hour), then you can polish it.
If you polish it before its hardened you are likely to scratch it a lot

oh aye, leave it to harden first, or you'll be down to primer quicker than you would expect

G3 is designed to be used on newly sprayed paint. It is a professional product and bodyshops don't like to leave things long before polishing. They do usually bake them though.

I would leave 2-pack a day or two before polishing because it takes much less effort when the paint is still a little soft.

To be honest mate, I don't know. Never used Celly. I would imagine it would be fine after a day or two. On the other hand celly doesn't cure as hard as 2-pack anyway, so leaving it longer won't have the same problem.

I used it when i tryed respraying, i sprayed 1 part autopaints metalic, loads of coats of 1 part polyurethane clear, left it overnight, saw the terrible orange peel look to the paint, sanded with 2000 wetndry, used g3 with a costco polisher, then g10 with the polisher, then autoglym polish, got a mirror gloss, tried g3 on by hand, just too much hard work, better with the polisher, use water on the polisher and dont stay in one place as you can go through , but not that easily, makes dodgy paint jobs look good.

G3 is quality stuff! i work in a bodyshop and we use it everyday. We use a big grinder with a Mop on the end of it(Buffer). This makes it look allot better than doing it by hand.

We use it on new paintwork, we leave it to dry for a day then Flat and buff it with G3. Looks mint when done. You've got to be dead careful when buffing it though, especially on the edges of the panels because it will go right through the paint in not time, and definately do it in straight lines. Will leave loads of marks on it if you don't and they will show up badly in the sun.

    Rub harder?!

Or hire an electric polisher for the day.
