Exclamation North East & Borders Members Ideas For 2002

Ok Peoples, who has any ideas for meets over the coming year?
I have my own ideas but all members feel free to comment or leave your own ideas & reccomendations for venues.

    Heres my ideas so far:

    1) Karting (subject to interest), I was thinking of using Metro karting by the Metro Centre as they were pretty good the last time I went (would need to check on minimum amount of people required for a session)

    2) A Static meet (pub carpark or similar), probably somewhere around Middlesbrough as it is quite central in the region. If anyone could reccomend a possible venue it would be appreciated as I dont know Boro to well.

    3) RR Session (again subject to interest). Im currently looking at possible venues (suggestions welcome). If enough people commit, I would see if any mag would be interested in comming along.

    4) Meet at York Raceways 1/4 mile rwyb. This is where we held our last meeting in September. You can run or just watch its up to you.

    5) Perhaps a meet at Croft (to coincide with the touring cars/formula 3 etc). Have a muck about before hand then go to watch the action on the track.

For events like Karting & RR sessions money would have to be paid in advance, to avoid people dropping out and making it a non event.

    Any input would be appreciated.

    Thanks

GAZ I'm sure if you got the karting at the metro centre sorted me and my two mates would come down for it it's only 2hrs away and we would probably use it as an excuse to get weekend in geordie land

Hey gaz if you come up with some times dates etc, i can garantee at least 15 people for a meet, dont know about carting etc, but there are at least 15 cars in my group who meet nearly every night so i know they will turn up. I could pass the word to other crews but then it would turn into all cars welcome ford, nissan ets or is that what you ment

    alright lads,
i am from the boro area and there doesnt seem to be many of us!
i could probably suggest a couple of areas for a static meet and also the karting at the teesside track is quality! twin engined 65 mph+ karts on a 1200m long outdoor track. it may be worth a look. i havent been to the track at the metro centre but teesside is better than the track at durham.

i am curious to know how many people are part of this region and local to boro.

this region seems to be one of the slowest to get going, lets try and get something sorted

    Thumbs up I`m.....

from the Northern reigion and find it lacking aswell, so what i suggest is that we join forces .

May even get 10 members together between us both! .

I would like the 1/4 do at York myself , but i`m not that fussy

    alrite guys,
I thought this post mustve been forgotten about!!
the go-karts at warden law are pretty good, and as far as im aware the only one to hold proper race meetings for the 'proffessional' racers!lmao
As for a static meet, id be up for that aswell, and i could probably get a couple of m8s to join me - just dunno that many folks with vaux's!!

    let me know whats hapnin!!

see y'all soon for a meet maybe?!

it would be awkward to set up a static meet cos this region is pretty massive!
i dont know where to suggest?
i suppose we should find somewhere central to all the people who reply, so far we have people from boro, sunderland and the lakes.
    hmmm? any ideas lads?

well first it may be good to find out how many from the lakes end would def arrive, incase we all travel there when we could of had a meet nearer home!! How about Croft or summit when there's a local race meetin on? (I could let ya's know when there is, cos me dad races in the Croft Championship!!)

Let me know what you think!!

    croft sounds good to me.

wots happening there in the near future?
i am organising a karting event for 12 may, its an ironman race at teesside karting. we have done a few of them now and its good crack. if we can get enough interest it may be worth doing.

is there any easy ways that the regional coordinator can contact all the people registered in our region to find out if they wanna do owt?

As for the contacts, who is the northern co-ordinator?? I would say e-mail would be the easiest way to let evry1 know about events!!

Aftre that, its 22/23 June, which is a BRSCC and so should attract Porche, Astons (Ferrari?) and the like!! It's up to you guys!!

Let me know what you think, and I'll see about gettin a stand or summit at a meet!!

Guys can all of you that are full paid up mig members please pm me yours details so I can check they are acurate on my list. I only have 6 members including myself on my member list. You can see how this makes meets a little trickier to organise as we need a date where everyone can attend. If I have time tommorow I will go on a reccy to try & find a venue that would let us hold a static meet, If anyone wants to join me they are more than welcome.
