sound system advice.

ok im trying to get info on recording onto my pc from a mixer + decks.

The problem is that my mate lives 7 miles away and has no internet access so i need to get this right.

his setup is a numark matrix 3 mixer and a pair of technics SL1210 mk2's

what would i need to use my microphone socket on my pc to record?

im guessing some sort of encoder is needed to convert the signal from the mixer into a form that the pc could read.

any ideas?

Re: sound system advice.

I use a Y-Cable to the line in port on my PC. It has 2 phono (the red and white/black plugs) one end and a 3.5mm jack plug on the other (small headphone type). The program I use to record or make and changes and editing it called Cooledit 2000. A bit old skool but does the job for me. Just make sure when your recording you have the line in selected in recording options and your sound levels are right.
