So Sansa mp3/mp4 players are a no go, but it's no that much of a downer as i have aux in to headphone jack cables galore hanging around, so just use an input on the back, take the audio from the headphone socket and problem sorted.

I'm sure you'll be more than happy with it. I've got one a couple of versions older. It's top notch.

Sorry for the late reply not been able to get on this weekend really.

Next on the agenda is a big lcd screen and a whole new surround sound set up...

The price my dad got this for could not be missed, may still be a few left if anyone is interested, pm me...

Its a ****ing big amp though, much bigger than me and my dad thought it would be, will get some pictures of it in situ tomorrow!

Re: New amp/reciever/....Arived today.

Loads of inputs and outputs except they no longer cater for the old phono inputs and nore the tape in/out either. Some people I am sure are still clinging to their old 33RPM vinals, and some audo cassettes. I still got loads of the old media.

Another thing I was discussing with someone recently about the modern playback media (CDs & DVD) that there is absolutely no clicks and plops, and other surface noise/analouge hiss in the background we used to hear on the old vinals, and tapes, so when you hear the modern media it sounds unreal for some reason and the old crackling stuff used to sound more real!!!

Another thing i am not sure if this thing is a processor driven then it may well have a built in equaliser, otherewise the older amps used to have the pre-amp out/in phono sockets at the back to allow for a seperate equaliser to be utilised.

Re: New amp/reciever/....Arived today.

does it do "any video input" upscaling to HDMI/anything aboce its class (ie composite in to component/hdmi out etc)?

Looks a good spec, my 2 year old Denon has a back end worse than that lol much fun when remembering what youve plugged into which assignable inputs etc.

MSG you can get phono -> normal audio level conversion stages these days.... do the Peado(Audio)Philes can pick and choose how everything "sounds" and also the audio kit makers can make more cash (like they need to lol)

Is it just a video switcher or does it process the audio over hdmi as well?

As it was just over a year ago.
The DVD+Sky box are on the middle shelf and the Xbox is on the lower one how with a Wii.
Should eventually get round to fixing my school boy error of sinking the cables into the wall too short so needed to run the ones up the wall lol

Re: New amp/reciever/....Arived today.

There wasnt much space for ducting only a 15mm gap bewteen the wall and the plaster board + it was dot/dabed on.. grrr so no straight cable runs anywhere.

Its a Denon 3807 (i think) with the Kef 3K series eggs. sounds lurvely.
Oh the amp is also a touch lower than that now too as it was melting the candles that are kept in the draw above it lol
