Disk write protected

How do i get around this.
Have put files on the card before, now it says i can't

Strange. It doesn't have any kind of microscopic physical switch on it to write protect it?

Some removable media devices come with specific software which will write protect them for you as well, but its not a Windows feature as a general rule, unless you right-clicked on the drive and set it's properties to read only.

Try it in another machine, if the behaviour is the same and you definitely haven't set any options as outlined above, then the filesystem on it may be corrupt, or the card itself faulty.

Try a Chkdsk on it, might resolve some minor issues.

It as a lock with an arrow key on it and it auto moves when i insert into the card reader, shall i just snap the fooker off?

As worked no problems in the past though

Used the card reader on the printer, worked first time, wonder why the laptop locked it each time it was inserted?

That's weird, must be something in the shape of the drive housing, snapping it off sounds like a plan if you don't think you'll need to use it in future, should save any hassle.

It's only for transfering DS games to a 1gb card, that all, i'll snap it off.
